Herbs

Since ancient times, herbs have played a significant role in everyday life. Many have tremendous and varied value:  medicinal, healing and cleansing properties, were and are used for preparing,  preserving, and cooking  foods and drinks (such as tea), and were often used in rites and ceremonies such as weddings, funerals and  many other celebrations and observances because they are thought to have special meaning or significance, charm, or powers. Today, herbs are primarily used by the average person for culinary purposes to enliven the flavor of foods - especially for today's health conscious, low-fat recipes that may need a little extra flavor lacking from the absence of 'fatty' ingredients. Herbs, both fresh and dried, are the magic ingredient to great tasting, healthy recipes.
