About Us

In 1972, Jackie Crane, and her husband Dick purchased an old farmhouse, the original Gladtime Farm Market. They started off growing and selling vegetables, and to supplement the vegetable stand, Jackie made homemade bread, jams and jellies too.

Eventually, to make the roadside stand more appealing, they added hanging baskets. On the very first day, every hanging basket sold out. This continued for the next few weeks and Jackie and Dick realized they needed to expand. Together they built Little York Plantation Garden Center and eventually Little York Plantation Landscaping.

Our greenhouses are full of thriving flowers and plants. We have something for everyone here. Whether this is your first year gardening or your fiftieth, we have the tools you need for a successful year. And, if you have questions or if we can help you with a gift card or other need, please call 607.749.4861 or 607.423.4417.

Little York Plantation Knowledge and Expertise

Jackie’s background in Interior Design, from the University of Georgia, and her understanding of plants has helped to contribute to the success of Little York Plantation. She has served on the Cooperative Extension Board, was a founding member and President of the Homer School Community Association and served as President for both the local and state Nursery and Landscape Association, as well on the NYSNLA Foundation.

The knowledge she has gained over the past 50 years has helped her develop a keen understanding of where and what to plant on your property, as well as, how they will perform over the next 30+ years. Her knowledge and expertise can add beauty and value to any property.

While Little York Plantation Landscaping continues to be the fastest growing segment of the business, it is also the most exciting for Jackie. She loves to help clients develop outdoor living spaces for you to enjoy for many years.

Each year we delight in seeing new faces and a new generation of gardeners. The team members both at the Garden Center and on Landscaping crews are key to the success of Little York Plantation.
